Broken jewelry and gift wrapping, Creative DIY gift wrap, DIY jewelry gift wrap, Earrings used for gift wrapping, How to enhance gift wrapping with broken jewelry, Repurpose broken jewelry, What to do with broken jewelry, what to do with broken or half missing jewelry

Have you ever wondered what to do with broken or half-missing fashion jewelry or accessories? If so, we’ve got a solution that will have you doing the happy dance, literally. With the holiday season in full swing and gift-wrapping on the rise, I’ve got a cute little enhancement idea, that’s sure to sparkle under any holiday tree.

For some! Gift-wrapping has become antiquated, so a lot of people have fled to using gift bags instead. However, there are still some of us who find joy in traditional gift-wrapping, as well as those who enjoy receiving gifts that have been meticulously wrapped.

No matter the occasion you can turn cast-off fashion jewelry into one-of-a-kind accents for gift-wrapping. Just purchase your favorite wrapping paper as well as your favorite ribbon fabric (we prefer satin ribbon), and then embellish your beautifully wrapped work of art with your broken treasures. FYI! Your broken fashion jewelry is way too beautiful to keep tucked away in a jewelry box or thrown out in the trash. That’s right! There’s no need to dispose of that broken brooch, necklace, bracelet, ring or half missing earring anymore. Let them take flight as conversation pieces to your dearest family, friends and favorites.

You’ve already taken the time to purchase the perfect gift and wrap it to show that extra dose of “You mean the World to me,” so why not make that wrapping extra special and pleasing to the receiver and show off your DIY skills and of course your beautiful collection of trinkets and treasures. At the end of the day, every broken piece of jewelry and accessory should have a chance to be in the spotlight this holiday season or on any occasion as a matter of fact.

Below are some of my broken earrings that I used as gift accents. I really hope this idea gives you inspiration and a little joy. Be sure to tag @MadisonGems in your gift-wrapping pics on Facebook, Twitter & Instagram, so we can see your gem-fabulous designs.

Thank you for a wonderful year of blogging and feedback. I love you guys dearly. Have a Happy Holiday season & an even happier New Year Gems.

Happy wrapping!

Turquoise is a blue-green, opaque mineral that has been prized as a gem and ornamental stone for thousand’s of years. It’s also December’s birthstone. Typically, Native American and Southwestern style artisans purveyed classic combinations of turquoise with only silver settings. However, recent designers have fashioned a fresh new style aesthetic, combining turquoise with gold, pearls, rhinestones, crystals and even diamonds. Accordingly, Turquoise is the official trending color for spring/summer 2016.

Turquoise jewelry is making a colassal resurgence this season and when worn right, it can look alluringly glamorous and transcendent. It’s most certainly the easiest way to add a pop of color to any outfit, just be sure to stick to no more than 2 or 3 hues when mixing things up. You don’t want to over do it or look comical. Also, turquoise can easily paired with black, white, tan, brown or denim ensembles and if you’re a daring fashionista, you can pair it with bold colors like coral, fuchsia or animal print.

Word to the wise, please don’t think you have to minimize turquoise pieces to solely casual, bohemian, aztec or western looks. You can dress up turquoise jewelry with formal looks as well, just like Beyonce, Cate Blanchett and Eva Mendez have done in the pics below.

Earlier this year Madison Gems was gratefully fortunate to be a part of a fabulous Art Deco Styled Wedding photo shoot. It was held at the swanky 501 Union in Brooklyn, NY. This awesome shoot was beautifully curated by wedding coordinator Simone Vega of Coordinated To Perfection and Jessica Schmitt of Jessica Schmitt Photography; in addition, to a host of unrivaled first-class vendors. As a result, our shoot was honorably featured on MODWedding.

Our art deco styled shoot was the perfect combination of colors and details for a contemporary 1920’s wedding. In that fashion, dazzling hues of pink, black, white and gold really complimented each other. Likewise, the bride and bridesmaid wore unconventional garments and ornaments that mirrored a bit of vintage, a dash of modern and loads of glam.

Accordingly, Madison Gems provided jewels that captured a modern and luxurious feel. The bride showcased three jewelry looks: edgy, vintage and glam-luxe. While the bridesmaid harmoniously flaunted a chic, in-vogue guise. Together, they forged a look that was symmetrical and unparalleled, complimented by an outstanding décor. Withal, we hope our gallery of photos illuminates a bit of inspiration and that our concept is one that you’ll adopt freely.
